An unreleased 3DCG TV series of Cutie Honey was intended to be created after being teased in Anime Expo 2001 and was licensed by ADV Films. However due to reasons that even creators could not find out, the show was canceled before it ever finished a single episode.
Background[]
At an unknown point in time, ADV Films acquired the Cutie Honey license for a new TV series that would make use of 3DCG. People had believed that the release of the OVA series, Re: Cutie Honey was what replaced the series but ADV co-founder Matt Greenfield refuted this claim as the intended series had been scrapped. The director, Hiroyuki Kitakubo via a fan interview revealed that even he did not know why the series was canceled but revealed the pilot episode was done sloppily.[1]
